A Tour of Tidbury...

We place a strong emphasis on learning in the outdoors.

Our ethos is all about "active learning".

We are very lucky at Tidbury to have two large and exciting outdoor areas.

Our two garden areas offer a wealth of opportunities for children to develop through exploration and play.......

Our Front Garden .....

"They have excellent opportunities to develop their physical skills, for example, when playing outside and using climbing and balancing equipment" - OFSTED Report 2018

Our front garden offers lots of exciting areas to play ...

The front garden is a large area where children can enjoy physical play and "let off steam".

It mirrors the range available inside and offers a wealth of fun and challenge....

It offers areas to climb, build, read books, sand and water play and a chance to be a superstar on the X Factor Stage!

"Children are able to choose whether to play inside or outside.  Most children choose to play in the exciting outdoor areas where they thrive" - OFSTED Report 2018

Our Outdoor Classroom...

This garden area is an exciting learning environment where the children can experience challenge and risk,

but in a safe and controlled fashion.

The children have free flow access to the outdoor classroom throughout the day.

This garden area is accessible directly from our indoor classroom.

They have the opportunity to make mud pies in our mud kitchen, work with real house bricks, climb trees,

dig in the ground, make dens, make music ...

They use, play and explore whatever they chance upon, including logs, stones, planks, insects.

Our nursery classroom ....

The nursery classroom is designed to give children freedom of choice to build independence and to extend their skills.

We encourage children to be "free thinkers" and "motivated learners".

"Children make rapid progress from their starting points as a result of the learning opportunities offered to them.

The staff provide challenging and engaging activities using a varied range of resources" - OFSTED Report 2018
