Food and Snacks

Snack Time

Snack times and meal times are always a key learning opportunity. A strong emphasis is placed on developing independence, social skills, table manners and learning the importance of healthy eating.

Children have a mid-morning and mid-afternoon snack and drink. The children are introduced to a variety of healthy snacks to share with their friends. Typical snacks include cheese, yoghurt, vegetable sticks, fruit, crackers, bread.

OFSTED Report 2024: Personal development is outstanding: "Children develop high levels of independence. For example children serve themselves fruit and cereals at snack time and pour their own drinks."

Drinks - Our Water Station:

We encourage the children to keep their bodies healthy by drinking water. "Don't get crispy, get hydrated!"

Please Note: The children have access to water at all times

Breakfast Time:

Children arrive from 7:45am and may choose to have breakfast at nursery. Breakfast is served until 8:30am each day.

A member of staff sits at each table, to support children feeding themselves, trying new foods and to create a warm and sociable atmosphere. The swans and bears sit together:
